I bought that one for 400 bucks because the owner thought it was equivalent to one made in China and priced it the same as a Chinese made guitar. Last week I bought a 2002 ESP LTD that was made at the World Instrument Company in Korea. I paid 700 bucks for that one and I felt like I got a great deal. The entire instrument screams of quality. The rosewood fingerboard looks like ebony is made of gorgeous wood. The quality is equal to my American-made PRS S2 guitar in my opinion. Lately I purchased a 2007 Epiphone that was made in Unsung Korea. For me this means that if I take the time to learn the serial numbers and look up the factories and do my research I can find some really exceptional Korean guitars for very cheap prices because people don't realize how nice they are. Most people do not take the time to look up serial numbers and research the different factories to find out where the best guitars are made.
I've landed a few Korean-made guitars made in the early 2000s and the quality blows away what you can get today for the money. We're lucky to live in a time where you can get such nice guitars for a few hundred bucks or so.īut. But the modern guitars of the last few years coming out of Indonesia are *exceptional* quality. I don't know where the new Casinos are made whether in China or Indonesia.
